Recently, the special education team of Drummond Schools, consisting of, from left to right, Paraprofessional Courtney Shields, Special Education Teacher Sabrina Shows, Paraprofessional Sarah Suthers, and Paraprofessional Camille Dahl were awarded the Special Education Teacher & Para Team of the Year for CSPD Region IV.
Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) is under the umbrella of OPI and serves the State of Montana in 5 regions. Our region (region IV) covers Lewis & Clark, Gallatin, Madison, Silver Bow, Deer Lodge, Powell and Granite Counties. This encompasses schools ranging in size from AA-C and small rural schoolhouses.
Each region awards annually, both a Para of the Year and a Special Ed Teacher/Para Team award. The award winners can be nominated by peers, administration, parents, etc. Winners are recognized at an awards lunch during the annual Montana Council for Exceptional Children (MCEC) Conference. This year's winners will be honored in Missoula on April 4th.
This team works very hard each and every day supporting the students of Drummond Schools and are very deserving of this award. We are all lucky to have them working with our students.
